M2A2 AMMO CRATE ".50 CAL"

ERA: Mid-2010's

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

SPECS: Most of the M2A2 cans are labeled 5.56mm M855 or other caliber ammunition. The lettering on the ammo cans may vary or not visible after being "demilitarized". The hinges and seals are in good working order. These cans would be considered Grade 2 cans. The M2A2 is known for having an improved latch assembly that prevents the gasket from getting crushed, which improves its ability to seal out moisture, unlike its predecessor the M2A1.  The M2A2 can bear several hundred pounds.

SPECS:  The T1IDR ammunition crates housed 120 cartridges, .50 caliber, armor piercing incendiary M8. with 10 rounds per carton, 6 cartons per can with a total of 2    cans. The crates weight was approx. 42 lbs. during its service period. This bullet was widely used with the Browning M2 Machine Gun.

           Moines Ordnance Plant-Ankeny, Iowa.
