Built from history. Made to display what matters.

The Book Rest is handcrafted from an authentic Vietnam War-era 105mm ammunition crate and thoughtfully repurposed into a distinctive display stand.

Designed to support a wide variety of items, it provides a beautiful place to showcase favorite books, commemorative plates, framed photographs, awards, and other meaningful pieces.

Each Book Rest receives a hand-rubbed finish that protects the weather-worn wood while preserving its original military character, markings, patina, and natural imperfections. Functional, versatile, and rich with history, it makes a meaningful addition to an office, study, kitchen, or display collection.

HISTORICAL DETAILS

ERA: 1955–1975
CONFLICT: Vietnam War
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: United States
ORIGINAL USE: 105mm ammunition crate

HISTORY & CONSTRUCTION

The original ammunition crate was constructed to carry two 105mm artillery cartridges fitted with M557 point-detonating fuzes. Original crate markings identify the ammunition for use with the M2A1, M2A2, and M40 weapon systems.

When fully loaded, the crate weighed approximately 111 pounds during its military service.

Each surviving section of wood carries its own combination of wear, markings, and character. The hand-rubbed finishing process protects these details while allowing the history of the original crate to remain visible.

PLEASE NOTE

Because every Book Rest is handcrafted from an authentic military-surplus crate, wood color, wear, markings, and overall appearance will vary. Original military writing is preserved whenever possible, but intact or fully legible markings cannot be guaranteed.

Books, plates, frames, awards, and other displayed contents are not included.
