This custom display is handcrafted from an authentic WWII ammunition crate and transformed into a meaningful way to showcase the career of a firefighter, law-enforcement officer, military member or other public servant.
Designed with customization in mind, the crate can accommodate one shield and one badge. Additional modifications may be available upon request.

THE STORY BEHIND THE DISPLAY
This variation of the original WWII crate was created to provide a timeless, meaningful place for displaying the shields and badges that represent a career of service.
Each crate is carefully restored and finished with a hand-rubbed stain that highlights the original wood, military construction and decades of natural character.
Because shields and badges vary in size and shape, we may request that the original pieces be sent to us to ensure the proper fit. In some cases, providing the name of the shield manufacturer may be sufficient.
Whether honoring a retirement, preserving family history or remembering someone who served, each display is customized to help tell their individual story.
This is a custom-order item. Please allow approximately 3–4 weeks for delivery. Additional time may be needed for custom stains or other modifications.

AN AUTHENTIC PIECE OF WWII HISTORY

The original T1IDR ammunition crates were built to carry 120 rounds of .50-caliber M8 armor-piercing incendiary ammunition, commonly used with the Browning M2 machine gun.
Each loaded crate contained two ammunition cans and weighed approximately 42 lbs. during its service period.
Crates marked D.M. identify ammunition manufactured at the Des Moines Ordnance Plant in Ankeny, Iowa, while crates marked L.C. identify ammunition manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri.
Original lot numbers and military markings help tell the individual history of each surviving crate.

EVERY PIECE HAS A HISTORY
Because these are authentic vintage military crates, no two pieces are exactly alike. Original markings, wear, patina and condition will vary from crate to crate.
We make every effort to preserve the original military writing and character of each piece; however, after more than 80 years, some markings may be faded or no longer salvageable.
These variations aren’t defects—they’re part of the history that makes each display unique.
Wall-mounting hardware, shield, badge and displayed memorabilia are not included.
